This is an ensemble cast of three men and three women. With many one liners, excellent comedic timing is needed by all of the cast. The age group ranges from 30s to 40s. Helen, married to Bill, is a stylish, attractive, slender, tactless woman with a cutting tongue. She is devoted to son Clinton. Helen is obsessed with material gains. Fastidious and finicky. Bill is a hard working plumber, discontented with his marriage to the fussy Helen. Diana is a fun loving, warm, larger than life lady with a wicked sense of humour. Di is happy with her life and marriage to Steve and is devoted to their two children. Steve is an easy going butcher who loves Diana and their kids. He is frustrated with his job and lifestyle and feels like his life is passing him by. Beth is a gentle, intelligent lady living in stressful relationship with her younger partner Vincent. She is a long and faithful friend to Diana. Beth's partner Vince is a flashy, fast talking, social climbing estate agent who uses people to get his way. He is handsome and knows it!
