A witch has put a spell on Fergus the prince and has turned him into a frog! The only way to break the spell is to be kissed by a princess. Luckily poor Fergus finds a friend in Zip the dragonfly knows just where to find Princess Patty. Sadly Princess Patty is rather spoilt, and although she promises to kiss Fergus, she breaks her promise. Meanwhile in the palace, Queen Prunella the practically perfect and King Percival are determined to rid the kingdom of the feral frog! They enlist the help of Ron the hapless royal frog catcher, who just can't seem to get anything right.

Eight original sing-along-songs have been written with audience participation in mind, whether it be simply clapping hands or dancing along with Fergus, the dragonfly or the whole gang.
There are 6 characters in The Frog Prince. Each character has an approximately equal role in this fast moving show. All characters need to be adept at physical comedy and have excellent facial expression. As in all pantomime the characters should be over the top and able to interact with the audience.

Fergus the frog is a sympathetic character in search of a princess to kiss him to break the magic spell cast upon him. Poor Fergus is bemused and has no idea how a frog should behave. He is kind hearted and well meaning.

Zip the dragonfly is a very energetic character who buzzes about very busily. She is happy to help Fergus but is not very impressed with the spoilt princess. This is a good comedic role.

Princess Patty is a spoilt girl who is used to getting her own way. She needs a strong personality and a good loud clear voice.

Queen Prunella and King Percy are very funny roles. The characters bounce off each other, with the queen being bossy and self-absorbed and the king being hen pecked but protective of his family when it counts.

Ron the royal frog catcher is a humble and diligent servant who is determined to capture the pesky frog! All characters need to sing and dance.
